Uri Lifschitz (1936-2011)

Uri Lifschitz was born in 1936 on Kibbutz Givat HaShlosha. In 1963 he was first introduced to etching by Tuvia Beeri. He then worked at Daniel Ferlatte’s studio in Kfar Szold. His early prints were of a surreal-theatrical nature, distinguished by use of acquaint. His late works, from the 1980s onwards, focused on social-political issues. He lived and worked in Tel Aviv. His works can be found among the collections of the Israel Museum, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, and many others.
