Ra’anan Levy

Ra’anan Levy was born in 1954 in Jerusalem. He was first exposed to the world of printmaking in his youth, through the Israel Museum print collection. In the second half of the 1970s, he studied printmaking in Israel. Since then, etching has become a regular medium in his work. His figurative works depict portraits of landscape imagery based on observational drawing, combining a variety of techniques which intensify the emotional dimension of the image. Since 1987 he has been living and working in France. His works can be found among the collections of the Bibliothèque nationale de France (Paris), Israel Museum, and Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
